Mrs. Frances Funkhouser Armentrout, 86, a resident of Weyers Cave, died at her home on October 14, 2016.

A daughter of the late Hunter and Grace Rush Funkhouser, she was born on April 9, 1930 in Christiansburg, VA. She graduated from the New Market area schools and Shenandoah Business College in Woodstock Va. Frances had worked at the Rockingham Farm Bureau in Harrisonburg for 11 years and Dunham Bush for 27 years before retiring in 1992.

Mrs. Frances Funkhouser Armentrout, 86, a resident of Weyers Cave, died at her home on October 14, 2016.

A daughter of the late Hunter and Grace Rush Funkhouser, she was born on April 9, 1930 in Christiansburg, VA. She graduated from the New Market area schools and Shenandoah Business College in Woodstock Va. Frances had worked at the Rockingham Farm Bureau in Harrisonburg for 11 years and Dunham Bush for 27 years before retiring in 1992.

On February 23, 1957 she married Sidney A. Armentrout who preceded her in death on March 30, 1999. Also preceding her in death was a son, Hunter Armentrout and two daughters, Helen Dean and Doris Beverly. Surviving is one daughter, Sheri K. Williams and her husband, Sidney, of Weyers Cave, VA; one son, Greg Armentrout, and his wife, Abby, of McGaheysville, VA; twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at 11:00 am at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Barbara Hensley officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 17th, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
